The Australian Open is the first Grand Slam of the WTA Tennis season. The annual tournament which takes place in January at Melbourne Park in Australia was delayed for three weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was played in February. The 2021 Australian Open marked the 109th edition of the event.
