The 47th NFL Super Bowl also known as Super Bowl XLVII was played on February 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 2013 Super Bowl game was played by the NFC champs San Francisco 49ers and AFC champs Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens became NFL Super Bowl champions defeating the 49ers 34-31. Quarterback Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens was the game MVP.
Super Bowl 47 made history as it pitted head coach brothers, John Harbaugh of the Ravens and Jim Harbaugh of the 49ers against each other. The city of New Orleans also etched its mark in Super Bowl history becoming the only city to host the game ten times.
