The 42nd NFL Super Bowl also known as Super Bowl XLII was played on February 3, 2008 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The 2008 Super Bowl game was played by the NFC champion New York Giants and AFC champion New England Patriots. The Giants became NFL Super Bowl champions for the 3rd time defeating the Patriots 17-14. Giants QB Eli Manning was the game MVP.
The Giants became the first NFC Wild Card team to win a Super Bowl.
