UFC 189 took place on July 11, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC fans were treated to a magical night that saw the Irish Phenom, Conor McGregor defeat Chad Mendes, to become the interim UFC Featherweight Champion.
The co-main event was awarded ‘Fight Of The Night’ for the performance put on by, UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler and the challenger from Canada, Rory MacDonald. Lawler shown his true grit and tenacity by stopping MacDonald in the first minute of the final round to retain his championship title.
